The building of the 3rd Temple is important to End-Time Prophecy because:
Daniel 9:27 tells us that “But in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
I take this to mean that the prince who signs the peace treaty shall call a halt to sacrifice and offering at some point during the middle of the week (the seven years of the treaty). It is understood that the Orthodox Jews will build the 3rd Temple and again institute sacrifice and offerings.
Also, in Revelation 11:1, 2 tells us that the Apostle John is given a measuring reed to measure the Temple so we know that the Temple is in place during the Tribulation Period.
In Thessalonians 2:3, 4 “the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sits as God in the Temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” Emphasis added. The anti-Christ person shall go into the Temple during the Tribulation Period.
The conclusion is that there will be a temple during the seven year peace treaty. It very well may be built prior to the Tribulation Period, so we know that it very important to know that when the Temple is built we will be close to, if not in, the Tribulation (7 year peace treaty) Period.
