The Gospels: Jesus/Yeshua gives a summary of the Last of the “Last Days”
The actual beginning of the New Testament (The New Covenant) is recorded in Matthew 26:28; Mark 14:24; Luke 22:20. The Lord Jesus/Yeshua gave the cup of wine to His disciples to represent the shedding of His blood as the New Testament that He would die for the sins of many.
The New Testament (Covenant) occurred on Passover, the 14th of Aviv (Nissan) on the Biblical calendar. Passover (Pesach in Hebrew) is a commemoration of the Lord taking the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt. Now He was taking all who would receive Him out of their sin debt. Less than 24 hours later He shed His actual blood on the cross. Passover had begun at sundown, approximately 6:00 p.m. and the Bible tells us that He died at the ninth hour on the following day which would be 3:00 p.m. That means it was less than 21 hours from the previous evening at 6:00 p.m. because the supper would have been sometime after 6:00 p.m.
While the Passover, Last Supper, marked the beginning of the New Testament, it was Peter speaking at Pentecost (Shavuot) that marked the beginning of the “Last Days,” Acts 2:16-20.
However, in Matthew 24 Jesus two days before Passover (Pesach) answered the questions posed to Him by His disciples, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age.?” His answers actually summarize the last of the “Last Days,” 24:4 – 51; Mark 13:3 – 27; Luke 21:8 – 36.
The following is a list summarizing what Jesus/Yeshua tells us, in the Gospels, regarding the very “Last Days”:
Many will come saying they are Christ, Mt 24:5; Mk 13:6; Luke 21:8
There will be wars and rumors of wars, Mt 24:6; Mk 13:7: Luke 21:9, 10
There will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes, Mt 24:7; Mk 13:8, Luke 21:11
You will be delivered up to tribulation, to be killed and hated for Jesus/Yeshua’s name sake, Mt 24:9; Mk 13:9, 13; Luke 21:12-15
Many will be offended, betray and hate one another, Mt 24:10; Mk 13:12; Luke 21:16,17
Many false prophets will deceive many, Mt 24:11; Mk 13:21
Lawlessness will abound, Mt 24:12
The love of many will grow cold, Mt 24:12
This gospel will be preached in all the world to all nations then the end will come, Mt 24:14; Mark 13:10
The abomination of desolation will stand in the holy place, Mt 24:14; Mark 13:14
There will be great tribulation, Mt 24:21; Mk 13:19
After the tribulation the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light; stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heaven will be shaken, Mt 24:29; Mk 13:24; Luke 21:25
The sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven with power and great glory, Mt 24:30; Mk 13:26; Luke 21:27
The day of the Lord’s 2nd Coming will be like the day Noah entered the ark and the wicked of the world will not know when the Lord comes and many will be left, Mt 36-51
