PROPHETIC SIGNS FULFILLED IN THE 21ST CENTURY
Before we get into prophetic signs fulfilled it is in order that we delve into the difference between God’s calendar, the Hebraic calendar and the Gregorian calendar so that we can better understand what is going on prophetically. God’s calendar, of course, would be the correct and perfect calendar. The Hebraic calendar is based on what God gave to Moses and the Israelites at Mount Sinai. We could then say that the Hebraic calendar is God’s perfect calendar. Well, I think that the Orthodox practicing Jews I’m sure believe that their calendar is God’s calendar. However, we must allow that throughout their tumultuous history that just might be an error. But for all practical purposes we can accept that the Hebraic calendar is correct. At the time of this writing we are in the Hebraic year of 5777. Now for the Gregorian calendar, we are in the year 2017. The number of years on the Gregorian calendar tells us that we are 2017 years into the Common Era (CE). The designation CE is a rather recent designation which was changed from AD which stood for Anno Domini which is Latin for Year of Our Lord. AD indicated it was that many years from the Lord’s birth. The Gregorian calendar was begun in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII. The Gregorian calendar replaced the Julian calendar which was established by Julius Caesar in 46 BC (Before Christ) which is now designated BCE (Before Common Era).
The why for of the above discourse on calendars is to demonstrate that the calendars other than the Hebraic calendar are measurements of years at times other than the beginning of the creation of God. Whereas the Hebraic calendar purports to be from day one of creation. Because in Judaism the birth of Jesus Christ is not recognized the dating is continuous from day one of creation. However, the Gregorian calendar is a rendering from the approximate date of Christ’s birth, which is reported to be four to six years before zero AD or CE. So, to sum up, on the Hebraic calendar we are at the year 5777 which indicates 5000 years or 5 millennia from creation plus 7 centuries and 77 years into the 6th millennium from the day of creation. On the Gregorian calendar we are two millennia and 17 years from the supposed birth of Jesus Christ. The two millennia (2000) is equal to 20 centuries which means that we are 17 years into the 21st century.
In Christianity it is believed that Jesus Christ was born at or around the beginning of the fourth millennia (4000) on God's calendar which would place this year at about the 17th year into the 7th millennia (7000) since the day of creation. Based on the Apostle Peter’s declaration that a 1000 years is as a day to the Lord, then we can say that we are in the seventh day from creation, II Peter 3:8. In the book of Genesis 2:2, it says that God rested on the 7th day from all the work He had done in creation. So, it is taken that this seventh millennium from creation God will again rest in His creation and the Lord Himself will return and rule His creation. This therefore gives rise to the term “The Last Days” referring to the time of the end in which the Lord will come and take charge of His creation. Therefore, Christianity looks for the return of Jesus Christ and Judaism looks for the coming of Meshiach to rule and reign.
While Christianity looks for Jesus to return as Messiah (Yeshua HaMashiach) and Judaism looks for Meshiach to come and fulfill the 13 points of Maimonides, I do not believe that the two are mutually exclusive but one and the same.
Now, having said the above, I can say that the Bible speaks of the ‘Last Days’ or the ‘End-Times’ and the ‘signs’ which will precede His coming.
Therefore, we can see the importance of searching the Bible to find those ‘signs’ which will precede His coming.
In Daniel chapter 9:25 the Arch Angel Gabrielle announced regarding the coming of Messiah would be after 69 weeks of years in which He would be cut off, which we take as the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Isaiah 53. Then there shall be one week of years left to be fulfilled before the Messiah will return again. Before that week of years can be fulfilled there are ‘signs’ which must be fulfilled before that week can commence. The cardinal sign which will be the signpost of when this last week of years will be launched is the signing of a peace treaty with many nations, presumably Arab nations. Perhaps even a peace agreement with the Palestinians and other nations who will see to the enforcement of the treaty.
Many ominous ‘signs’ were fulfilled in the (20th century). In this, the 21st century, we have the following sign(s) fulfilled:
Joel 2:28-32 with the Blood Moons of 2014/2015 or 5775/5776. The signs fulfilled are the following:
1. “I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;” Joel 2:28
There now God’s people in all nations, in essence all flesh.
2. “Your sons and daughters shall prophesy,” Joel 2:28
There children, adolescents, adults, male and female who hear from the Lord and prophesy.
3. “Your old men shall dream dreams,” Joel 2:28
This is being reported from all quarters.
4. “Your young men shall see visions.” Joel 2:28
This is also being reported
5. “And I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.” Joel 2:29-31
This was accomplished with the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014/2015
6. “And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance as the Lord has said among the remnant whom the Lord calls.” Joel 2:32
This is being fulfilled everyday as new Believers enter the Kingdom of God!
7. "Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the latter days." Hosea 3:5.
"And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. The shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away." Isaiah 35:10.
"I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. Amos 9:14
This is a continual fulfillment as Israelis make aliya (return to Israel) each year.
