Prophetic Prayer is simply praying with the prompting and leading of Holy Spirit. You will know the true nature of a circumstance or a situation. Be sensitive enough to Holy Spirit and the way that He is speaking to your heart. When there is a spiritual attack or things are consistently going wrong in your life and you don’t know what it is because you do not know the true nature of the situation or how to get to the root of it the spirit of fear will come. And you more than likely will react to the fear if you do not recognize that it is a spirit and cast the vain imaginations, the fearful negative thoughts down 2 Cor. 10:3-5.
When something disastrous or difficult takes place in your life and you pray prophetically insight, revelation and wisdom says I have an understanding of what has happened so I will pray accordingly. You may also know why this situation is happening and for whatever reason. When you receive revelation, wisdom or knowledge, in some cases, you may be led not to continue to pray the way you were praying. Why? Because there is a difference in what was sent as an evil plot against you and what is actually taking place in the midst of darkness, chaos and confusion. A turning could be happening through a move of God that will cause a turnaround in your situation and not the destruction you envisioned as a result of the trouble that is presenting itself.
When breakthrough or harvest is taking place you are in the process of a transition. A shift will take place that will result in you going to a higher level spiritually and increasing in the natural in the areas you were expecting or not expecting to be blessed. As you stand through the shift and not give up it will cause you to be strengthened not only spiritually but strengthened physically. If this is the case and it is happening because of a shift and move of God then the rebuking and standing against it will not be able to stop it. However, it will turn around for your good at the appointed time if you do not give up. In this case when God has moved, opposition will automatically come against you and what was sent that is evil will turnaround for your good and you will receive the desired end, Gen. 50:20.
God’s ways are higher and greater, He is not obligated to do anything the way mankind does or perceives it should be done. He is the Master Strategist and He has the master plan because He can back up His plan and bring it to fruition. If you decide to take a stand trust, believe and work (flow) with the Holy Spirit and not against the Lord and you will at the appointed time see the miracle (the supernatural) take place. He moves outside of time, He is not restricted to time or our resources. He reaches back in time and brings it to the present and then turns it into a prosperous future, Dan. 2:21-22. He dwells in Kairos, heavenly time, as we function in Chronos time, the time He set us in while we are on the earth.
Praying with the Word of Wisdom and the Word of Knowledge which are gifts of the Spirit and are given as God wills will enhance your prophetic prayer, I Cor. 12:8. Receive that which is imparted to you by Holy Spirit. With this type of prayer you stop wasting your time praying and wondering if you are praying the right thing or the right way. You don’t have to try to express strong emotions or even be eloquent in your prayers but simply receive what God is revealing and pray from your heart with all sincerity. Prayers are not based on feelings or emotions but the knowledge of your heart. This is called fervent prayer. Now place the fervency with the prophetic revelation and gifts of wisdom and knowledge and you will succeed.
Tell God you want to know His will as it is in heaven about your situation so you can make declarations about it. In other words, you may know His will from reading and studying the Bible but you will also want His will about the present state or crisis you are facing at the present moment. Psalm 32: 8 says “I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” Therefore the more time you spend in counsel and the closer you are to the Lord the more you will know His ways. If you are in counsel with Him, walking in His will you will have more revelation and know that His eye is your eye and His eye sees what you see. So when you pray you do not have to give long stories or prayers to acquire what you need from Him or to explain what it is that you need because you know that He said His eye is upon you and He has seen as you have seen.
You want to declare what His will is right now and speak it out into the atmosphere. The Word of God says when you pray, believe and you will receive, Mark 11:23-24; I John 5:14. As you speak and release words out of your mouth into the atmosphere know that His Word does not return to Him void but will accomplish that which He pleases and shall prosper in the thing which He sent it, Isaiah 55:11. Further understand that angelic beings are waiting for the Word of God combined with faith to leave your mouth so that they can act on your behalf as they hearken to the voice of His word, Psalm 103:20. It sounds out of the ordinary but there is nothing ordinary about the Lord and His people. We are set aside, consecrated, a special people for His glory.
Therefore, you can say Father God You see the situation and in Jesus name give me Your counsel that I might walk worthy and give me the way of escape from this trap from the enemy. When He reveals to you prophetically by His Spirit in a still small voice or through His Word, spiritual gifts or however He chooses to do so then you will be in a position to make declarations about it and see the outcome turn in your favor.
Our prayer life or time is not limited to a set time. We can speak with the Lord anytime and anywhere and when we are sensitive to His Spirit we can hear what the Spirit is saying to our spirit however He chooses to speak.
