OTHER OLD TESTAMENT PROPHECIES RE THE LAST DAYS

Dr. Robert L. Dickey, Los Angeles, CA

Thirteen of the thirty-nine books, one-third, of the Old Testament books speak directly about the Last Day(s), the Day of the Lord or the End-Time.  In Genesis Jacob prophesies over his sons and in particular Judah who shall be King (through Jesus Christ/Yeshua Hamashiach).  In the Book of Job, which is considered the oldest book of the Bible, it says, “For the wicked are reserved for the day of doom; they shall be brought out on the day of wrath.”  Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53 speaks to Christ/Hamashiach on the cross. Isaiah 2:11-22. gives a description of the Last Day(s) Temple (House of the Lord) and the Lord’s judgment upon the nations; in 13:4-13 the prophet speaks of the Lord’s wrath upon disobedient nations.  Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 and 39 speak to the End-time war(s) with Israel.  Jeremiah 46 talks of the judgment of the nations who come against Israel and of Israel preservation.  Daniel 12 speaks to what will happen to the Jews in the final days.  Joel gives us an overall view of the End-Times and the signs which had or have to occur.  Amos tells us how severe the last days will be for Israel and Believers, but also how God will restore Israel and shall not be put out of their land again.  Obadiah, Zephaniah and Malachi deal with God’s Last Day judgement of Israel’s enemies and the judgment and restoration of Israel.  Zechariah tells us about the Lord’s Second Coming.
