DECREES AGAINST SELFISHNESS
But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? I do not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. I John 3:17-18.
I don’t live just for pleasure and self-gratification [giving myself up to luxury and self-indulgence] for the one who does is dead even while they still live. I Tim. 5:6.
Christ died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake. 2 Co. 5:15.
I am blessed and I am a blessing to people. I dispense good to others. Gen. 12:2; If I give to the poor I will not want, but if I hide my eyes [from their want] I will have many a curse. Pro. 28:27.
I am not selfish and self-centered, I deny myself, I take up my cross and follow Jesus. I forget myself, lose sight of myself and all my own interest. Mark 8:34.
I make it a practice to please (make happy) my neighbor for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him [to strengthen him and build him up spiritually]. Ro 15:2.
I must not think only of myself but try to think of the other fellow, too, and what is best for him. I Co 10:24.
…Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith (those who belong to God’s family with you, the believers). Gal. 6:10 AMP
It is God’s will that by doing good, I might cure the ignorance of the fools who think I’m a danger to society. I exercise my freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. I treat everyone I meet with dignity. I love my spiritual family, revere God, and respect the government. I Peter 2:13-17.
Though I am surrounded by troubles, my God will preserve me against the anger of my enemies. He will clench His fist against my angry enemies! His power will save me. The Lord will work out His plans for my life - - for His faithful love endures forever. Ps 138:7-8.
I call out to High God, the God who holds me together. He sends orders from Heaven and saves me. God delivers generous love, He makes good on His Word. Ps 57:2-3.
Because I am not selfish, I can love the Lord my God with all of my heart and with all of my soul and with all of my mind and because of this, I shall love my neighbor as I love myself. Matthew 22:37-39
